Urasenke Chicago Association's Tatezome FEBRUARY 2, 2020

In February, association members, family, and friends will welcome in 2020, the year of the Rat, with a tea gathering. Tea will be prepared and the tokonoma will be decorated for the New Year. Everyone will be served a special new year sweet and a bowl of matcha. Following the tea presentation, there will be a Japanese New Year Bento (boxed lunch) and sake toast.

Fee:        $30 + $20 annual membership fee (for members)
or
               $35 only (non-members)

Rikyuki (Memorial for Sen Rikyu) MARCH

Each year, around March 28th, Urasenke members throughout the world host a memorial tea gathering for Sen Rikyu (1591). Rikyu's aesthetics and teachings are the foundation of Chanoyu as we know it today. This year, we are happy to be holding our Rikyuki at the Japanese Information Center of the Japanese Consulate in downtown Chicago.

All are welcome.

No RSVP necessary.
